When Will I see Results?
After the peel solution is applied, skin turnover shedding begins in approximately 24-48 hours then continues for 2-7 days depending on the peel, individual skin resilience and boosters used. The skin typically looks it’s best at 7-10 days after the peel is performed.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
This is a complex question generally answered at an in-person consultation at Portland Pain and Spine, due to the wide variation in skin goals and concerns, however, for those with healthy skin looking to simply maintain already great skin, one peel per quarter is realistic. Those with advanced degrees of hyperpigmentation such as melasma, uneven skin tone, texture or acne may need a series of 3+ peels over a shorter course of time.
Will I need Time To Recover
There will be some degree of skin shedding with PCA peels and occasionally redness or uneven tone while the skin completes the shedding process. While there is no true downtime with a peel, some clients feel the need to take social downtime during the most dramatic phase of peeling which happens between day 2-4 post application. The shedding is best concealed by applying moisturizer.
How Long Do Results Last?
Result longevity varies from each individual based on age (our skin’s natural ability to renew slows down as we age), skincare products used at home, overall health and other factors. Most people find with one single peel, the skin is vibrant and healthy for 1-3 months whereas people who receive a series of 3+ peels have results lasting much longer.
